daughter {Father} date

this may sound a bit strange, but a little while ago, and by a "little while" i mean back in May, i received an invitation from the sweet Holy Spirit for a little daily Father-Daughter time with Him...  it was a beautiful experience, just getting the invite.  i hadn't painted in a long, long time and was in an environment where everyone was creative for the purpose of honoring God and communing with him.  in one sweet of many intimate moments that week, while i was worshiping and painting, i heard the Father's voice say "Paint with me, Bri.  Every morning.  Paint with me."   i knew instantly that He was asking for some play time with his girl... where He would RE-teach me how to create {as i had lost my way and couldn't find my artists self any longer}.

well, fear that i wouldn't truly be able to find that painter inside of me again 'encouraged' me to put off this date time with daddy.  and put it off.  and put it off.  and put it off.  and the gentile man that He is, He never pushed.  but that still small voice would pop up every once in a while and i would ever so sweetly find something else to do instead.  like re-read twilight for the umpteenth time... or some other inane thing i can always find time for that never ever fulfills.  this morning that still soft voice came again.  "You are a painter.  It's what I made you for. You painter girl."  Then again at the end of service this morning, "Paint.  You painter.  I made you a painter."  That along with the pastors sweet message this morning that we must love ourselves for God's sake, for what he has deemed lovable, IS...  compelled me to come home and dig out the watercolors.
